At the beginning of the year I took a trip to a used bookstore of local fame. Chamblin’s Bookmine is a veritable labyrinth of used books, and it’s extremely easy to come out penniless. Trust me, I’ve done it. Anyway, my haul this visit contained a number of young adult titles and some more grown-up material on the state and history of China. Guess which ones I’m reading first? I have been reluctant to jump on the J. J. Abrams bandwagon. I have yet to watch a single episode of Lost. I didn’t see Cloverfield. I haven’t purposefully been avoiding him, mind you, I just wasn’t really interested. If anything, my allegiance lies with Joss Whedon.
